Although it partners closely with FXW, the Children at the Crossroads Foundation (CATC) is a separate 501(c)(3) organization. The mission of CATC is to provide need-based scholarships to students attending FXW, thereby helping to create an economically diverse community within the School. Through CATC’s efforts, an FXW education is possible for students and families who otherwise could not afford this opportunity.

Since its inception in 1990, CATC has provided nearly $17 million in scholarships to over 1000 students. It is not only those students who benefit however; all of our students learn and grow within a school community that truly represents all aspects of our city’s diversity.

In addition to an annual appeal, CATC holds a major fundraising event in May: the CATC Scholarship Dinner. Current FXW families join with alumni families and other foundation supporters to make this event successful. Unlike the FXW Fund and Gala, all of CATC’s proceeds are directed solely toward financial assistance.
