Children at the Crossroads
Inspired by the founders of The Frances Xavier Warde School (FXW), Maggie Daley and Fr. Jack Wall, The Children at the Crossroads Foundation (CATC) helps to ensure that very qualifying children can access FXW’s transformative education.
Guided by Mary Ellen Caron, founding FXW principal and current CATC Board Chair, and supported by a passionate volunteer board and community of former parents, alumni and friends, CATC embodies a relentless commitment to breaking down financial barriers, to ensure that every child, regardless of economic circumstances, is given the chance to thrive in an environment that fosters academic excellence and nurtures empathy and understanding – essential qualities for the world today.
CATC is separately incorporated, not-for-profit foundation that solicits and accepts donations from individuals, corporations and organizations that might not otherwise support a faith-based school. CATC also benefits from the generous support of the parish communities of Old St. Patrick’s Church and Holy Name Cathedral both of which conduct an annual Scholarship Sunday collection.
CATC is run by an entirely volunteer board and 100% of donations to CATC are directed toward annual distributions restricted for supporting financial assistance scholarships for FXW families. In addition to direct donations, CATC hosts an annual Scholarship Dinner to honor individuals who have made meaningful contributions to the mission with the net proceeds of the event also going to fund scholarships. CATC does not cover all financial aid needs at FXW, however, their support is crucial in our mission to make FXW financially accessible and we are profoundly grateful.
